Striking permafrost thaw within Canada's sporadic permafrost zone

In a recent paper, Chasmer and Hopkinson illustrate substantial permafrost thaw over the last 7 years within the sporadic to discontinuous permafrost zone, NWT. This video illustrates changes in ground surface elevation (in meters) associated with thaw using multi-temporal airborne LiDAR data acquired in August 2008, 2011 and 2015, and linearly interpolated between years.
